In true independent film maker fashion, everyone that said they would help me on this film project, has, for one reason or another, abandoned me and this project. So, the filming schedule, and direction of the filming has changed.
NEW! Filming of each episode will happen over a 48-hour period, in two (2) consecutive days, as opposed to the earlier published 72-hour [consecutive] filming schedule. Editing will continue being scheduled as needed.
What does that mean? Well, it means that most, if not all scenes will be shot in 1, maybe 2 takes, and in sequence. Yeah, I know it's not an easy task, but that's what will make this film project so unique.
NEW! We have identified several new filming locations that are within closer proximity to the actual region of the story line to help lend that "authentic filming location" energy to the film.
NEW! We are looking for new talent to work with. We have streamlined our storyline to include just a handful of characters. We feel this will help aid in plot continuity. This is why we are looking for someone that truly "gets" what we're trying to accomplish with this project, and hopefully wants to continue working with us on creating future episodes, if that opportunity should arise.
How to Apply! It's easy. Just go to our CONTACT PAGE and follow the on-screen instructions. Once we have reviewed our candidate options, they will receive an invitation to attend an open casting call/production meeting in the coming weeks that will only happen on one (1) day.
All candidates must clearly understand that this will be a casting call for the 2 MAIN ROLES in an INDEPENDENT FILM that will be UNPAID.
After the latest tech and crew production meeting on New Year's Day, it was unanimously decided, based on a multitude of reasons, to post-pone filming the pilot episode until mid-Spring, and will continue until late-Summer or early-Fall.
We will be using this time leading up to the filming dates to continue working on B-roll and getting our actors prepped for filming.
Stay tuned for more updates!!
We are looking to expand our production budget to cover filming for an additional 4 episodes, on top of the 6 already scheduled.
Yeah! That caught us off-guard too! But we're glad to see this project has generated so much interest.
So, in hopes of expanding our current production budget, we are looking for private donations, sponsorships and advertisers.
The few that we've been in talks with already have pledged their specific kind-of support once the pilot has been released in March, which graciously helps with marketing and promotion.
We are now looking for episode support and have created this sponsorship and advertising option.
Episode Sponsorship - This option can be set-up several ways, and is a guaranteed win-win for all parties involved. If you would like to sponsor an episode, either with a private donation, which is obviously preferred, but also with a product, we would be willing to incorporate that into the production of the episode, either by use of the product on film, and/or a mention in our film credits, website and social media pages.
For documentation reasons, all private donations will be processed through a link to PayPal on our website.
Advertisers - This option would provide the sponsor with website and social media advertising space for the entire length of the production process + 90 days after the release of the final episode, with an option to extend the sponsorship for the next season of filming.
We are pleased to announce that we have found our main character. Please join us welcoming Destiney Gilbert to our cast as the Main Character. Yay!
SHORT FILM CASTING CALL
Currently looking for local first-time actors to volunteer their time and talents in helping film a pilot for an independent short film series that’s part mystery, part adventure and part paranormal.
We have a tentative filming schedule date of mid-January for 2 days in south Pierce County, WA. Filming will take place during daylight hours only, and only during the week.
The dialog and script of this film is intentionally adaptable in hopes of finding someone that can bring their own unique spin to the character.
CASTING ROLES OF:
MAIN CHARACTER - This role can be for anyone. We intentionally wrote this role to be open to character interpretation from our actor. We want them to bring this character to life in their own unique way, but someone that can follow the character outline that is presented to them.
FRIEND of MAIN CHARACTER - This is also for anyone. We are looking for someone who can develop this character alongside the main character throughout the entire series of films.
COUPLE, HUSBAND AND WIFE THAT ARE ALSO PARENTS - Retro style, maybe 40's or 50's. Non-speaking part.
FRIEND - Male or Female, non-speaking role, just need you to look at if you're reading a post card. Possible retro look wanted.
WOMAN, playing a non-speaking role of GRANDDAUGHTER, who just happens to be an archaeologist/treasure hunter, reading a postcard.
In true independent film maker fashion, we are producing this project with a very limited budget at the moment, and we are unable to pay our talent. But, respecting the value of your time, and your talented efforts, we would be willing to offer a generous percentage of the revenue from online sales or rentals.
Please submit headshot, resume, and reel, or link to an online reel, for consideration.

Loose Arrow Media Productions presents, "Welcome to Clay City, WA". A series of independent short films from creator David Lucero, about a small, rural town with a big history that time is trying to erase. That is until someone found an old wooden box that mysteriously contained a collection of old postcards that seem to want to tell a story bigger than the words written on them.
